The Kurtherian Gambit[]

We Will Build[]

When Gabrielle kills Kamiko Kana the false Queen, one of his brothers gave up his life in exchange for an offer for him and the others a chance to give their oath to Bethany Anne. When offered the opportunity to switch sides, they took it and became The Queen's Elite. Akio was presented with Bethany Anne’s Katana that Stephen had given her.  The Elite were to keep it, guard it and care for it, until Bethany Anne needed it again.  He was named the leader of the Elite and a member of the Queen’s Bitches.

My Ride Is A Bitch[]

William is working the G’laxix Sphaea when the Yakuza attack the hidden warehouse. He is shot twice and Akio shares blood with him to quickly heal him. They bond over the aftermath and become closer friends.

Akio is tasked with staying behind in Japan with Yuko as her teacher, guardian and friend and to prepare a safe place for all of the UnknownWorld as well as for Michael when he returns. He is left with Pods, Black Eagles, the satellite system, his Jean Dukes Specials and other tools. The challenge is over time even these items based on Kurtherian technology wear out and there is difficulty after WWDE getting resources and manufacturing capabilities to keep them in service.

(Akio's story continues in Akio Revelations and The Second Dark Ages)

Akio Revelations[]

Akio, Yuko and Eve follow Bethany Anne's mandate to protect humanity from the members of the UnknownWorld who would prey on them while awaiting the return of Michael.

Heinz, a decedent of William "The Duke" Renaud has ambitions of taking over the world using the forces of the UnknownWorld. He has taken control of Isamu and Ogawa after the death of Kamiko Kana. They are sent to Japan to build an army of Nosferatu while members of the German werewolves are sent to do the same in Europe. The act of building the army brings them to the attention of Akio and ultimately to their deaths. The events around this bring Horst, Asai and Koda into Akio's circle of friends/allies.

Kamiko Kana had used the Heinz, Isamu and Ogawa in 1956 to punish Akio for revealing himself to Kenjii, a young man who had opened Akiro to emotions he had thought he would never have about another person after he had been turned. Heinz had Isamu and Ogama torture Kenjii to point of death multiple times as Akio was forced to watch. Finally they appeared to kill Kenjii and then torture Akiro as a final punishment before being return to Kamiko's service. Kenjii is not killed, but turned to Vampire by Heinz with a memory overlay to consider himself Miko. After the destruction of Heinz's stronghold Miko survives and makes his way back to Japan. He kills a number of the Sacred Clan on the way, making them his mortal enemies. Once reunited with Akio he remembers his previous identity, but his personality is split between Kenjii the gentle person and Miko the vicious Vampire.

Horst is one of the surviving leaders of the German Werewolf packs. Horst's father was the alpha and was killed by Heinz. Horst's mother was killed protecting Heinz. Heinz "adopts" Horst and his brother Dieter although Dieter has far more allegiance to Heinz than Horst. Horst ultimately aligns with Akio in killing his brother and is the one who actually kills Heinz. Akio deems Horst as honorable and invites him to join Akio's team in Japan. Redeeming Horst was a turning point for Akio. Previously he had been killing all Weres in a pack when he found them abusing humans. After Horst he took the time to separate those who could be redeemed.[1] On one of the efforts in stopping rogue werewolves in Australia Akio reveals to Horst that Akio's upgrades by Bethany Anne included the ability to project abject fear on others and it is a rare talent amongst the vampires.

Peng Kun, formerly a general in the PLA, is known as the Grand Master of the Ning Jing/Serenity Temple in the Dabie Mountains of China to humans. He is actually the Grand Master of the clan, controlling the activities of the clan from the temple. The Weres at the temple dress and appear as Buddist monks to the human world. Kun has desires to control all of Asia. His rash actions against Akio and Akio's allies results in the destruction of the temple and the loss of a significant number of the Clan members including himself. The torture death of Akio's lover Kengii sets Akio on a path to destroy Clan members wherever he can find them. Over the next year, personal execution played out anywhere the Sacred Clan gathered in numbers less than fifty. The towns and enclaves that were larger suffered a much more frightening fate. All that remained of those were deep craters left where pucks had fallen unexpectedly from the sky in the night. There were never any survivors who were enhanced. Eve develops a silver gas rocket that literally starts dissolving the Clan when they enter the cloud. The fact Akio can freely move in the cloud means his Pod-Doc upgrades eliminated the Vampire vulnerability to silver.
