The Empress’ Spy series is written by new comer, author S.E. Weir and consists of 4 books in the First Arc, per Michael's notes at the end of Promises Kept this series is just the first arc.
For those of you that haven’t read any of the Kurtherian books before this, it can be read as a stand-alone series. An enjoyable science fiction, coming of age story of a young human girl born and raised on a space station finding her path in life. You’ll meet aliens and visit alien planets, you will learn how humanity has moved out into the wider galaxy and how they live, love and handle adversity.
For those of you that have read at least the Kurtherian Gambit series all four books take place during part of the same time period as #18, Might Makes Right of the main series as it covers a couple of years near the beginning of the Leath Wars, but does not cover any aspect of the actual wars. Some favorite characters from the main or other subseries make an appearance and fills in what happens to a few of those characters in the missing years.
